Navi won't work with my GVIF -tried 'everything'-

Hi

Got some great help from Martin -chocolademan- today installing my GVIF and D4 BT module. Thumbs Up

We were quite certain everything worked fine but just about going home we discovered the navi didn't work anymore Sad

I have signal from my rear view camera when putting in reverse but the navigation is now 'unavailable' (see pic).

We tried about everything to get the navi back on screen but nothing works. Navi works fine when plugged in directly, bypassing the GVIF. DIP-switch is set correct; also tried every combination possible. We tried changing the power, GVIF interface, monitor out cable etc etc. Maybe we're overlooking something?

Another thing: when plugging in the MOST cable to connect the D4 BT module the screen doesn't go further than the start up 'LandRover' screen, i.e. no navi or whatsoever. The BT module isn't programmed to the car yet, is this normal?

Still no go after some more fickling.

heard some rumours maybe it has got something to do with the satnav version? (I have the 2012 upgrade)

Bloody annoying it won't work after all the money spent... More people with the same problem? Other solutions; direct input in the screen without the gvif?

Input appreciated.

sounds like it could be the link cable from the DVD unit to the GVIF, do any other AV inputs work?

yes, the rear view camera works, as well as the av1 etc, but the navi says it's 'unavailable'. We tried changing the input cable from the navi tot the gvif (we had an extra set), but no succes. But it should be there yes since the gvif gives signal to my screen, so the fault lies between the navi->cable->gvif (no 'signal out' to the screen). Maybe ordering a new cable..?

New cable has been ordered Thumbs Up

I reckon its the cable or the relay in the GVIF unit. All the AV outputs work fine and when the original DVD cable is put back in, the Navi works fine.

You need to check the power to the BT module if the system halts when you connect the module in the loop
The MOST bus is blocked by the BT module by the sounds of it

Flacks Thumbs Up

Im having the same issue. Rear view works great but get the " navigation unavailable" message.
Did you ever sort this issue and if so, do you mind sharing your solution?
Best wishes,
Jake

Make sure the blue connector is in the right way at the back of the nav unit under the seat as it can go in upside down as mine did this and took me a while to correct it Thumbs Up

Mine works fine now, for me it was an issue with the microswitches. After some tinkering and trial and error I got my navi back.

So I unplugged my GVIF unit overnight and once reinstalled it worked fine???
No idea, all switches were as before. 1/2/3/4 down for on, 5/6 up(off) for Land rover and 7 down

I dont like that it will only switch to back up camera if im in Nav screen. Is there a workaround for that?
Also i cannot get rid of park bracket overlays. Not the fine blue lines, those are easy to remove in the menue. I want a clean screen void of any external brackets or indicators.

Thanks for your replies, friends Bow down
Glad its sorted now Very Happy
