I've managed to source some suitable steel and rubber double plugs to replace the hopeless Takla bung. The bungs will need to be modified by me to make them suitable for this, based on a top-secret design originating from the great bung-master himself, TFC. With this bung you'll be able to get it up in under 30 seconds without having to rely on external electrical devices (aka compressors).
Before I end up with a garage full of unloved bungs, can anyone who might be interested in the finished article express their bung desire on here please, so I know what to order?
I'm expecting the total cost to be in the region of £20-£22 including p&p to mainland UK
EDIT 28 Sept: Confirmed price £15.50 plus p&pI know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

even with SWMBO holding the offending bung in place, I still ended up like a chimney sweep trying to get the inflation cable into the other pipe. I suspect I would still endo up like this with the new bung, but hey, I'll try one.
Ooops, set it up as a poll. Signup option added (no commitment at this stage)I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

With the amount of contaminates in the water supply over the last 12 months I think one of these is an essential personal accessory when out socializing in the Galway area

's OK Will , Im bringing a 5 gallon drum of good clear well water with me TYVM
Besides drinking water is the last thing Ill be doing
Post to the US should only be an extra £2-£3. Any more out there want one? Will probably get 10 together in the initial batch so there will be some kicking around if I don't get 9 people interested at this stage (I want one for myself obviously!). Should have a firm price by Monday or Tuesday but definitely won't exceed the top estimate of £22 including p&p and a donation to the site.I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Takla is a make or air jack that some of us have.
Having twin exhausts on the D3 is a PITA with a Takla air jack as you need to plug the jack into one exhaust and bung up the other exhaust.
Takla do supply a bung, but it's pants and it blows out under the pressure.
This new bung should stop the need for me to hold the air jack pipe in with two hands whilst sitting on the floor with my foot on the bung in the other exhaust trying to stop it shooting out and taking out an innocent bystander.
Not if you bought a decent compressor to begin with...... The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom

Ah, but with this you can have the car up in 30-60 seconds vs 3-5 minutes. And no ar.... messing about opening the bonnet, taking off the battery cover etc. Go on John, you know you want one. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Good idea, but I will continue to use my T-Max twin compressor (until it expires).2016 D4 Landmark

and a few older Land Rovers from the 1950's
I have special ones that come with a free air jack, but being special they cost a bit more. About £350 more. Shall I add a sign-up option for you Stu?I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.
