Engine bay 12 Volt ignition feed

Hi I have been trying to find an ignition feed in my engine bay ,I have taken a feed from the empty relay and had problems first when driving I noticed the cruise control did not work the the vehicle died , i pulled over and removed the power feed from the relay socket and all was ok ,so I am now nervous as to where I take the feed from . I only need a trigger wire to turn my DC to DC charger on.

The relay base should be fine.

Maybe a coincidence or the fact that the DCtoDC was functioning?

Thanks Peter , I managed to find out from the boys at Triumph Rover spares that there is two ignition feeds in that relay ,if you get the wrong one it feeds back to the computer causing problems .
