Are 2014 xenons plug and play on a 2011 GS or do they need activated etc?

They will need activation to work at all.

Is there any way they may not work (assuming they aren't broken?)

If memory serves me right, 2014MY was when the bumper and headlamp shape changed, so you'd need to change the bumper as well to fit MY2014 lights to a MY2011 LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

I've got a bumper too but I understand the lights are a straight swap fitment wise but you need a new grill rather than a bumper (albeit there's a gap between a 2014 grill and 2011 bumper if used like that).
My query is just about the light functionality - just keen to ensure they will work

I think they work, assuming of course you get them activated. If memory serves me correctly the built in DRLs don't work without wiring changes in the connecting plug.

Cheers. Appreciate this is a pretty well worn path already but there are various opinions so appreciate input

Right - fitted and DRL works (is this xenon or LED?) And indicators work so assume dip and high beam will work after activation. Looks awesome!

Did they work in the end etuna?
I'm looking at this myself for a 2012 XS. The original facelift threads have now vanished.
Plug, enable, and play? Or was other work required to get the DRL functions running?

I had to get LEDs activated but other than than it was plug and play. NB there is no real DLR, the DLRs are activated when the side lights are switched on so rear lights with are on too if that makes sense. doesn't bother me

it is working correctly?
my car doesn't have a switch for DLR so can't run DLR. I could retro fit one and a new rear view mirror with light sensor is guess.

that would be auto lights, Robbie had it:
Off - DRL
Sidelights - Dimmed DRL outline only
Dipped - Dipped beam
Not picking holes, just wondered how youd done it

yeah that's what I meant. auto lights needs a light sensor in the screen is thought unless I'm mistaken?
I'm intrigued re the DRL v dimmed DLR outline now. any pics so I can differentiate?
