Passenger seat occupancy sensor

OK, first question of what I'm sure will be many over the next few weeks!

The occupancy sensor in the passenger seat cushion seems to be really sensitive - if I put a small bag or something on the seat, it starts sounding the 'seat belt not fastened' alert. I can even trigger it by placing my hand on the seat and putting really light downward pressure on the cushion.

Should it be this sensitive? Is there any way to adjust (or disable) it? My BMW has the same sort of arrangement, but the trigger level on it is sufficient that it can distinguish between a bag and a person on the seat, and not sound the alert if it's not appropriate.

Mines not as sensitive but, they're not adjustable. The good news, at least you know it's working. Thumbs Up

I've disabled both the drivers and passengers seatbelt sound. You still get the light on the dashboard. I drive mine about 100m down a passage and then close a gate. Then I ALWAYS put the belt on. But that sound was driving me daft. Or any shopping on the passengers seat was setting it off on a rough road.

My passenger side seat is also sensitive and bongs - but a tip from here was to hit the seat base towards the back (which is where the sensor is) and this makes it go away

Mine has the bong disabled but don't think you can disable the light, my dog sits there all the time but I just ignore the light
Thumbs Up
