Error codes after refitting the center console

Heres the funny ones that came after removing the carpets, and the seats. and removing the tape around the cables. they where not pretty good, so I changed most of them with electrical tape..

and here they are:

FOUR-WHEEL DRIVE LOW RATIO - SHORT CIRCUIT TO GROUND -:P1811
GENERAL FAILURE INFORMATION - NO SUBTYPE INFORMATION. (PERMANENT)

FOUR-WHEEL DRIVE LOW RATIO - SHORT CIRCUIT TO GROUND -:P1811
GENERAL SIGNAL FAILURE - SIGNAL IS ERRATIC. (PERMANENT)

FOUR-WHEEL DRIVE HIGH RATIO - SHORT CIRCUIT TO GROUND -:P1807
GENERAL FAILURE INFORMATION - NO SUBTYPE INFORMATION. (PERMANENT)

FOUR-WHEEL DRIVE HIGH RATIO - SHORT CIRCUIT TO GROUND -:P1807
GENERAL SIGNAL FAILURE - SIGNAL IS ERRATIC. (PERMANENT)

LOST COMMUNICATION WITH ALL TERRAIN CONTROL MODULE -:U0138
GENERAL SIGNAL FAILURE - SIGNAL IS ERRATIC. (PERMANENT)

Any great ideas where to start looking?

might I be so "lucky" that one of the screws that bolts the console to the frame got one of the wires squeezed?

I did remove the battery leads, put the battery on charge before I disconnected any connectors that hides beneath the console. Did a nice cleaning of the carpets while they where out of the car.. and did the chassis floor too.. geeee so freaking mutch dirt'N'Smal rocks there. must be all my offroad driving.

Wel atleast clean inside now..

You could have trapped a cable on the consul, did you remove any of the front seats as the loom has been known to be cut in to on the back edge of both front seats and are you sure you have reconnected all the plugs under the consul if the off road switch plug is not on fully this would give you those warnings

That I might have trapped a cable on the consul might be, Both front seats where out. All the connectors has been connected, and re checked the connectors.. This off road switch plug.. witch one is that? the big Green one that goes to the TR wheel and low/high switch and the lower/lift the car?

I have now removed the seats, the carpet, the consul. looked threw everything I can remember that I have touched or moved, or otherwise could come in contact with anything. And I cant seem to find any short to ground anywhere.

After openin up everyting, splitting the wires from eatchother, did a clear all faults on Ecu's and still the faults are displaying.

Is there anyone who as a picture of the wires for the Terrain response, what connectors it is, how they looks and where they are going.

I am now Hungry, Tired and I can not type properly, So Ill call it a night.

After a nights sleep and lots of hours @ work, I feel ready to start again on this fault, is it that simple that an earth connection is not good enough.

P1811 4-Wheel Drive Low Indicator Short Circuit To Ground
P1807 4-Wheel Drive High Indicator Short Circuit To Ground

This is what I found on the net. compared to the msv-2 info Is this a more "correct" indication or is that for another brand of car?

Removed the transfercase module, and found .. I found.. yes, what did I find?? hmm.. Green stuff on every connector pin on the module.. I guess bye bye module, since the faultmate reporst no software installed. or supported.. hmm.. strange.. anyone out there who can read their software module and post here so I can try and flash it and see what happens before I order a new module? Fogga? you up for it?

I removed all the connectors on the transfer case aswel.. tested it and no pins had any connections to ground and the fault states..

A new transfer case installed and callibrated, runs through with no issue.. problem still there
ordered a new all terrain switch module, same fault as before..

Wiring from the transfer case module to the switch pack looks ok

removed the inner wheel arch to look at the connectors and wiring.. looks fine.

Help....

Problem now solved..the 12v feed wire to the all terrain module was the issue. A splice gone bad.

From the green connector on the Switch pack-centre console, pin number 20 this one goes to a grey connector to pin 8. followed this wire and found a splice that was the cause for the fault.

All splices I have looked at is realy bad and I had lots of lost communication faults. after redoing most of the splices many of these com errors are now gone..

Im glad its all sorted now..

Thanx guys.. I have taken some pictures i think of my search and for documentation..
I will have a look for some pictures of the splices i fund and corrected..

I found splices @ left and Right side of the front doors. I removed the reats and mid console, the carpet out of the way it was easy to see where all the wires where goin. It still amazes me that these vehicles need to have sutch amount of wires.. and the weight of all this must be pretty heavy, So why not use Most bus for all the devices ??

I have uploaded some pictures to my gallery, It takes a while to upload these few files, just 186 megs in total.

Per.

parrafin23, I don't seen any relevant photos in your gallery. Do you remember the location of the splices that fixed this?

Ohhboy.. Thats long time ago i messed with that stuff. pictures gone for sure due to hdd fauilure..
I remember it was a red 12v feed to the all terrain module. I think it was on the RHS passenger side that is on a Lhd vehicle.

If Im remembering correctly, all the wiring from the gear lever and backwards comes out rearwards, thats towards the rear seats of the car. then they span out some to the left and some to the right.
Most of the splicing I did was at the fronot passenger door, by the Green/white cursed splice for the remote control.

Come to think about it and looking at the wiring diagram it had to be the splice called SJ971

I guess you have some issues too with it?
