Did a similar thing on a VW Touareg i had. basically dropped a bike down the side of it and the pedal gouged out some of the tinted glass. I used T-Cut to get it out which did the trick, however it took ages to do it. After you could feel the smooth "dent" in the glass and see it in certain light but only if you were looking.
hope that helps

Looking at my own policy for reference, I can see no reason why you cannot claim against your glass insurance leaving you with just the excess to pay. The insurance company could tackle the car park issue so you possibly could get your excess back too.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948
Try WD 40 it works on scratches but maybe not on one so deep I dunno
But looking at the sign it encroaches on the space , I would be sending a bill to the car park for sure
How does WD40 take scratches out if glass ?
It's a light water displacing oil...sometimes aerosol but can be bought liquid container....
I would have thought a scratch in glass if polish-out-able it would take says jewellers rouge type polish (which only removes very light scratches with a heck of a lot of work)....
If WD40 does remove scratches from glass I would be amazed....BREXIT - done properly.

Don't want to be unsympathetic, but I've got to agree with Dave, it's a fixed object.

SWMBO backed my RS6 into a parking bay not noticing the low down pipework (covered in yellow warning tape) and put the rear glass through. I claimed on insurance without any issue. End of the day you hit something (moving or not) and you need a new piece of glass. I'd be surprised if your insurance didn't have it sorted within a few days with only excess to pay.MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten

Hitting something does not automatically mean it is your fault. Hitting something that should not have been there does give you some grounds. Hitting something because the object was poorly maintained and encroaching on a parking bay should help your claim.
