AMK Compressor drier silica refill

HI

Does anyone have any long term experience of refilling the silica Gel in an AMK Compressor drier?

If so where did you buy the gel from and how long has it lasted?

I have an AMK compressor that i swapped on my silver D3 sat in the garage as I needed it sorted in a hurry so put a new unit on it last year, still got the old one in my garage waiting to refurb, and I believe on these the only real issue is the Gel beads - the ones in it look like old coffee granules!

Id like to get it ready so I have as a spare if needed in the future.

Cheers

Darrin

it is sufficient to have the silica gel dried in the microwave for 5 min.

or you find tons of them on fleabay for little money.

I must admit I havent tried it in the oven - it just looked so bad I thought it was beyond saving Embarassed Embarassed

What colour will it turn when its dried out?

This is it now..

Probably could do with new filters as well - unless they can be cleaned

it will turn white / yellowish. And then you need to seperate the powder from the gel beans.

In total you might loose a gram or 2. Not important for refilling the dryer.
