Expedition roof rack install, does it need roof bars?

Hi all
I am looking to buy an expedition rack for my disco 3.

If i am getting this one (or similar - this one comes with brackets)

Will i need roof bars or anything to mout it on?

Or can it be somehow mounted on the standard roof? (For clarity my disco is completely standard, with the grey/black trim flush with the roof)

you need to have the short rails fitted for the standard LR Expo rack (the ones that run from the back to the dip in the roof line

Not sure about this one though as its a non genuine one, but would assume it will need some Must stop buying shiny toys....
