Just to say hi and ask a few questions

Hi to all you Disco fans,
My name is Jason, and I've always fancied getting a disco 3 or 4. I understand that up to march 06 is for a cheaper tax disco.

Manual or auto box?

What are the main problems to look out for ?

Air suspension much go wrong with it? and is it pricey to fix?

best place on the web for spares and upgrade to a disco 4?

There will no doubt there will be more questions to ask,but these will to for starters.

Cheers for now

Jason

Welcome to the mad house Very Happy

Right answers

Up to 55 plate cheap tax 06 and above more,

Up to you re manual or auto but if you go for auto torque converter is a problem (like driving over a cattle grid) replaced mine new £3000 but think they replaced gearbox

Air suspension common problems are valve blocks and compressor (new compressor best one is amk D4 but need software upgrade up to £600ish) someone did a price comparison swapping from air to springs and total cost was £300 more than a complete new are system.

Best place for spares http://www.advancedfactors.co.uk site sponsors,

Have a look on here in the search section lots of info

One thing to check is that the belts have been done as could cost up to £1000 for replacements depending where you go.

Also check the tyres as new ones will set you back around £600 a set.

07-08 year had issue with the oil pump casings (lots of info about it on here)

Lots of members on here that offer upgrades so you don't need to top spec as lots of bits can be enabled using diagnostic tool like 3 flash indicator, Bluetooth modules, sat navy on the move, depends where you are also site sponsors Geoff. and. Flack do lots of maintenance work on them at decent prices.

Well if that hasn't put you off get looking and enjoy

Chris
