just for the oil pump yes 350/400 ish but 700 ish for a full belt service
ps would you just do the oil pump and not replace the cam belt, idlers and tensioners
Always advised, but some people don't want to spend the extra money to replace the belt at the same time...
Customers choice, at the end of the day. Risks are explained, and made aware if there is a belt issue, it's not my problem. Can't force them into something they don't want. Also stated on the invoice that belt replacement was advised, but rejected. My D3 Build Thread

Thanks for your help guys
Just been looking at buying a 07 D3 and the current owner had no idea if oil pump had been changed. Turned out he had no evidence of the cambelts being changed either.

Ive just done all belts, ildlers pulleys and oil pump. All supplied by Mikey and all fitted fine and performing as they should.
The dealer who i bought my D3 from had managed to misplace the service book so i got all mine changed just for peace of mind.
However, once all had been stripped down, it looks like everything hand been changed recently, Belts and everything all looked brand new..
Still, its all done and I can sleep at night.....for now "I'd like to agree with you.....but then we'd both be wrong!

Is there any way of telling, (eg; via chassis No or Engine No) if a D3 has the old or new style pump without physically inspecting?

If it is the stronger pump, the belt tensioner won't break off
However, a new pump brings increased oil pressure at start up

Admirable - I've read mixed messages on VIN ranges but my view is you're better to pay £350ish and be safe than take the risk and require a new engine. Mine is an 08 and have been told by other G4 owners that it might not be needed but I'm not taking the risk.

Just had mine done by Flack .I was lucky with mine as one of the belt tensioners had more or less fell apart Mick replaced the two of them as the one that was in better condition was showing signs of wear.
I had everything done, new cam belts, bearings front and rear, oil pump (mine had the old one fitted) and water pump and auxilliary belts. Its good to have the peace of mind and it looks like I narrowly missed a potential catastrophic failiure.
In my mind its better to be safe than sorry for the sake of a few extra pounds. If you have to get your belts etc done at a later date its false economy not to renew your belts and water pump etc while its all stripped down for an oil pump replacement But thats just my opinion.
It was good to put a face to the name Mick, the car is running really great and thanks again
