Enough about hobbits and Ronnie "DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?" Pickering.
Back on topic, I vaguely remember threads on this site about how ugly and boxy the D3 was, and how effeminate the D4 was, and ... and ... everyone went out and bought one.
The D5 will be a cracker. Too expensive, probably, but superb. Eventually the new Deafener will fill the gap created by the price rise, and it will probably be more fun.MY91 110 CSW, so long ago I can barely remember it - sold

You got yours on order? You know you want to. Well someone has to be the guinea pig to see how many flattened beer cans can be fitted in front of the intercooler.

I don't disagree, it will undoubtedly be a great vehicle. It's just that it might not suit my needs, especially if there's no split tailgate. Price will be an issue for sure, for me anyway. I'm already beyond my comfort zone with the price of my current D4, with the use I put it to and the annual mileage I do.2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

@DSL, Yes, I am sorely tempted. On my wish list:
-- RRS2 SCV8 Dynamic Autobiography (the SDV8 Dynamic is just a tease for the real deal, and I love driving the SDV8).
-- D5 SCV6 HSE (yes, I hope the petrol version will be sold in my market).
-- New Deafener (again, hopefully with a petrol engine to avoid DPF problems when idling for long periods).MY91 110 CSW, so long ago I can barely remember it - sold

Good to see you're spending the little 'uns' inheritance.

I rule myself out, I was the guinea pig for the DS. Look how that turned out
The D5 will be over styled and over priced.
Can't see myself getting one plus the stupid new road tax system that penalises those that choose to spend their hard earned cash on a nice new motor.23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

I'm quite taken with the F-Pace at the moment but I would like an L405 FFRR (used).23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

A L405, fitted with the 4.4 SDV8 lump, is on my want list. Likely to replace my RRS with a D4 though as it more likely fits my needs and the amount I'm prepared to drop on a car.
Should a few numbers come up I might change my spending habits... Visiting from rrsport.co.uk
