What should I connect my sat nav power to?

This is one of those jobs I wish I'm begining to wish iId never started....

I have a fused power supply kit for a TomTom sat nav and thought it would be an easy job to attach it to a switched live supply behind the facia on my 06 Disco. I've bolted the mount to the top central cubbyhole, reckoning that I can just replace the rubber mat when I sell the car and no-one will see the holes.

Problem number 1: I can't find an ignition-switched live supply to the radio or heater controls. They all seem to be permanantly powered.
Problem number 2: I can't get the cigarette lighter part of the console off (which is switched) without removing the entire centra console, so that's not a goer.
Problem number 3: I've now lost some of the spring clips which pinged into the blackness (this isn't really a problem because it all seemed to go back together OK anyway)

So. Can anyone tell me if there is an ignition-switched live feed I can use in there, or do I need to route the wires to the fuse box? And if so, now do I do that without losing even more clips?

I fitted a cigar lighter socket behind the bottom glovebox which is powered by a piggyback fuse plugged into fuse 58. I then drilled a small hole at the back of the sat nav recess in the dash and ran the cable behind the "H" trim into the back of the glovebox and plugged the 12v adapter into the cigar socket. Fuse 58 is ignition controlled so when the power is on, the sat nav powers up and once the car is switched off, it powers down. Thumbs Up
