BAS remap via IIDTool
Just thought I'd post this here as it may be a bit more prominent than in the sponsor section.
I finally decided to take the plunge and get a BAS remap for my 2006 D3 via the GAP IIDTool, so I ordered it on Sunday morning with a view to getting and fitting it during the coming week.
To my surprise Pete emailed me back within minutes and by Sunday evening (delay entirely mine!) my D3 was re-mapped.
I have since had the opportunity to take it for a bit of a run and can confirm what everyone else has said. There is a noticeable improvement in the mid range pick-up and the lag when joining a roundabout is lo longer there.
So many thanks to Pete for the fast service, patience and original work that went into the remap. Having it on my exisiting IIDTool is a real bonus so thanks to all at GAP Diagnostics as well.

Just done the same!
Great service from Pete at BAS, and to GAP for a great tool.
Just had a quick run before dinner, power delivery is awesome especially as stated above in midrange - the 3 tonne brick just keeps pulling

A lot less than swapping the D3 for a D4 to get similar performance It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

You're right, I was just off to bed and thought I'd send him an email with all ecu info etc so it was ready for when he had time this week - got email back within a couple of minutes, remap ready to go!

If I purchase a re map for my d3 does it stay available on my iid tool to aid if the d3 gets wiped?
What if I upgrade my d3 to another d3 or even a d4 will I have to buy another re map?

Hi
Since all remaps done on the IIDTool update the cars software during the process to the latest versions, its very unlikely that the dealers are going to overwrite your remap as their tools will not allow it.
However both standard and tuned files remain inside the tool for you to re apply as you need should such dealer event ever happen.
Maps are written dedicated to each cars vin number and software calibration found inside the ecu which means using a D3 map on a D4 is not possible and would need a dedicated D4 map (Once Available on the IID)
For the D3 we may in the future offer a little returning customer loyalty discount on a second map purchase for the same IIDTool.
Kind Regards Pete
