Hi all, how much movement is allowed in the diff centre bearing before it should be replaced

Did you mean prop centre bearing?
If so if its just rubber play its okay any mechanical play and its toast, also worth twisting the sliding section and seeing how much slack the sliding joint has.
Some people have had the rubber come unbonded from the centre bearing metal carrier and have lifted the prop up and stuck sikaflex in between the bearing rubber and the tin u shaped carrier let it set and carried on for many more miles, others have tried new bearing and had vibration issues, most seem to play safe and go for new prop complete.
