Removing the ECU

Hi guys,

So I need to remove the ECU to send off for a remap.

I have searched and not really found any specific posts on how to to remove the ECU nor any precautions required.

Would someone be so kind as to list the steps, preferably with photos?

Some of the things I'd like to know:

. Do you disconnect the battery before removing the ECU or can the battery stay connected?
. If battery must be disconnected, do you reconnect once the ECU has been removed?
. Can/should the battery be connected without an ECU in the car?
. Disconnect the battery before inserting the ECU?

Any special instructions once the ECU is back in the car?

Thanks!

Battery first ( Laughing ), then ECU and don't reconnect the battery with half the power system missing.
