TPMS MY16
My handbook says that the system should display the spare tyre, it doesn't. I've spoken to the dealer and they are unclear.
Should it display and if so what?I'm to old to know everything......

Do you have a full sized spare that came with the car?
If no then it won't display anything as the slim wheel doesn't have it
If yes then it will only display a message when required
Quote:
TPMS also monitors the full size spare tyre
pressure. If the pressure for the spare tyre is
incorrect, the message CHECK SPARE TYRE
PRESSURE is displayed, accompanied by
illumination of the warning lamp.

Do you mean on the display like this one? This is from a MY2015 with a full size spare complete with tpms valve and the spare doesn't show.

Dan, that's interesting. My MY2015 shows 34 front and 37 back at normal load, yours is completely different ?

What would happen if I put a set of wheels on to a MY16 without the TPMS sensors fitted.
Would the car have a hissy fit as it wouldn't be picking up a signal - only ask as I have a spare set of wheels that I want to use as winter tyres.
Cheers

Just brings up an Amber warning light on the instrument cluster. Alternatively buy a set of TPMS valves for your winter set and the vehicle will detect them.

On an earlier post someone pointed to a very good deal on E Bay, a set of four dedicated to Landovers for under £30 the set with a 100% money back guarantee.

Cheapest on ebay are £16.95 plus P&P each - my set of four will be cheaper than that
Anyway..............
I have had my TPMS valves fitted today, once in, guy at the tyre place scanned them, and his hand held reader showed them all OK. Came home and fitted alloys to car. Started, no error messages/warning tiangle showing, went for a drive, about 10mins, speeds up to 60mph. Came home, locked and let the car go to sleep. Then tried checking tyre pressures via service menu, and 3 show 0 PSi, one, left rear shows 37 PSi. WTF?
any ideas. Went out again, still no warning symbols/messages, so it would appear that the car knows the sensors are there, just not showing any pressure on 3.

silly question, how does the car know which is spare and which Tyre is on which corner Experience is a difficult teacher, because she gives the test first and then the lesson afterwards!!!!

from the TPMS ID of each sensor
strange - new ones working this morning, maybe I hadnt left the car long enough in sleep mode, although the pressures they are showing dont match what my tyre presure gauge is showing.
Dont think I care any more
Maybe I do care some more - Now got TPMS fault light on - ARGGG. Dealer has inputed the ID codes for me (very nicely FoC), and was OK for about 8 miles before throwing TPMS warning again.
Not sure where to go now, other than trying another set of valves?
