2005 Discovery 3 TDV6 S Manual Cairns BlueDiscovery 3
Ridge Monkey

I bought myself one of these about a year ago when I realised that long stay anglers ( campers who catch nowt Rolling Eyes ) seemed to have a number of excellent accessories that would really be useful whilst camping. So here it is, the Ridge Monkey Toastie maker. I've seen it called a number of different things in the past, namely The Diablo, but this is a much bigger version.
It's available in two sizes, the small size will take a regular sized slice of bread and the bigger XL size looks like it'll take a full English!!!

It's basically two non stick pans, hinged together. You make a sandwich, bung it in, close her up and stick it on your stove. Regular opening to check on progress and turning over as you go and in a couple of mins, you'll have a perfect toastie.
I cooked all sorts of stuff in ours whilst at RIAT last year and it was very popular especially when a decent quick snack is needed. Will also make superb scrambled eggs. Thumbs Up

It works like this:

I have no affiliation with Ridge Monkey what so ever, other than having bought and used their product and can wholeheartedly recommend this, it really is superb and the kids will love it and you'll probably be impressed yourself. We now have one in the kitchen at home too. Thumbs Up
Available from Ebay. Costs about £17 for the small one ( remember this takes a regular sized loaf slice ) and the bigger version is around £25.

You can all thank me later. Mr. Green

I am one of those long term anglers who catch 'nowt' Wink but I have one of these. Fantastic, especially on the bank this winter in some rather chilly conditions. Last week I cooked a cheese, ham and chorizo pannini - proper posh bank side grub that is!

Good bit of kit.

Hmmm. I've never been a fan of crushing perfectly good sarnies. Ruins the texture.

Each to their own I guess Laughing

Thumbs Up if I want a toasted sandwich I do it under the grill. Grill one side till dry but not coloured, this is the inside of sandwich, add fillings , toast till done, not so easy if you don't have a proper grill though!

That is very cheap. Thumbs Up
Unsure of what will fit in the big one but for £25 it might be worth a go.
These really are very good, I don't think anyone will be disappointed. Wink
