Not quite clear from your explanation if noise is present at standstil
If not maybe Front Diff ??
Is it a grinding or more of a chattering like a dry needle bearing
May be an idea to get it on a post lift and run it and listen from underneath if that is where the noise is from There is no I in team, but there are five in Individual Brilliance

Does it sound a bit like a swarm of crickets or a geiger counter? ie, when you are feathering the throttle or let off?
If so, it seems that the torque converter is possibly to blame as many people who have replaced the TC for other reasons have said the cricket noise went away at the same time.
Mine's been doing it since I bought it at 150,000km, now at 250ish, still doing it. 2008 RRS TDV6 - Chawton White/Black/Lined Oak - 20's, h/k, sunroof - 350K KM.

If you can get it up on posts then you can start it and get the wheels spinning, then you can stand underneath and check some of the running gear.
The reason i suggested the diff is it is in the position you mention
If when you drive, say when accelerating from a coasting state there is a change in tone this is when the note changed on mine , basically when the diff went from being driven by the wheels to being driven by the engine There is no I in team, but there are five in Individual Brilliance
