Armstrong Massey, York vs Middleton On The Wolds (Driffield) |
|
Currently TD5 owner about to buy a TDV6. Went for a recent test drive at Middleton and had 20 minutes in the car. Arranged a 24hr test drive for tomorrow. Was phoned earlier today to ask if I'd sorted my insurance. Seemed like a real faff, but I had to phone my insurer and arrange temporary cover. My insurer (NFU Mututal) said that they didn't cover test drives... I went back to Middleton and asked if there was something they could do. They said there was nothing - didn't want to even try!!! I was amazed, explained I was probably going to spend 20-30K with them, and wanted to be certain before I bought - still no.
Anyway, rang Armstrong Massey in York. Absolutely no problem. As long as I took my licence on the morning, I could take it for 24hrs. I'll get my TD5 valeted, and then valued whilst it waits with them. Clearly they want my business!
Does anyone know anything about Armstrong Massey, York, or can anyone recommend another dealer in the East Yorks/North Lincs area?
Many thanks,
John

I got my (used) D3 from Armstrong Massey. They were nice to deal with and although I couldn't budge them much on price I got a few nice goodies thrown in with the purchase. Gotta be firm with them tho

John C, in my experience, i wouldn't go anywhere near AM in York.
I paid in excess of £40 for my D3 [and apart from Colin in reception] everything is absolute cr*p!!
They couldn't look at an issue when I brought it in, couldn't even guarantee to look at it later.
I took it to another dealer whilst in my travels and was treated like a king [i didn't even buy it from them].
Have since moved my business to Ripon Land Rover,
Service is excellent, although on the surface they seem a little 'frosty'.
But I sussed out, they're just plain Yorkshiremen, serving farmers through to gentry.
[never seen so many Land Rovers in one place as here].
Hope this is of help. ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

I have bought 2 D3s through them so far and have been very good. If I can plug anywhere it would be Ripon Landy.
