MOT Advisories
Hello All
Any help with this would be appreciated.
Is all of this achievable at home or do I need involvement from a garage ? I don't want to use one if possible.
Can anyone supply parts numbers, preferred suppliers and costs if possible.
Any hints and tips on the work would be great.
Thanks in anticipation.
Rob

Without knowing how much of a home mechanic you are, it's hard to say whether or not you're capable of doing it.
You can buy everything you need to do the jobs from here, though:
Steve2021 BMW iX3 Premier Edition in Carbon Black ⚡️🔌
2019 Škoda Kodiaq 2.0 Tdi 190 DSG Sportline in Quartz Grey. Excellent vehicle. Gone.
2017 Discovery Sport HSE Auto in Carpathian Grey and Ebony Leather. Modern JLR Junk. Gone.
2007 Discovery 3 TDV6 S Manual in Zermatt Silver with Ebony Cloth (143k) Gone, but now patrolling the Asia section of the West Midlands Safari Park!

Good point Steve.
Well I'm an apprentice trained maintenance fitter, so I'm ok with the spanners.
I'll have a look at the link
Thanks

1- http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic31160.html
this may be relevant if you need to change the whole arm
http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic86153.html?highlight=track+rod
2- Think they are referring to the short drop links? awkward to get to but do-able, see here
http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic83069.html?highlight=drop+link
3- As above
4- rear brake pipes known to corrode, usually above the axle, rotten piece can be cut out out and copper section spliced in, remove alloy heat shields beneath and track back brake pipe until a solid piece is found - you will need a tool capable of forming an end on the cars metal pipe in order to join it to the new copper section
5- Prop shaft centre bearing, some have managed to replace with success, many replace the whole propshaft, there is also an article on here where 'tiger seal' was used to fill the void of the rubber bushing
6- This should help
http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic71290.html
7- Don't worry about it
Good luck, nothing too much to worry about and you've a year (and a nice long summer hopefully to get it done)
If you need any clarification do a search or post up, someone will have the answer

Brilliant reply.
Thanks very much.
Replacement prop sounds like it might be expensive.

You can price it up, roughly £200+ for a prop, V £50 for a bearing (if you can do it) V a tube of tiger seal £8?
all prices are 'guesstimated'

What's the deal with the tiger seal - I assume it's a bodge ?
