i have had my disco 3 for nearly a week now and i have just spent the last hour and a half on the drive trying to get the voice command to do as i ask.
Well what a waste of time everything i ask, it just says SORRY. I have tried the command for radio, cd, navigation and it just keeps saying SORRY. I have spoken the exact words as in the manual but it does nothing.
Can anyone help as too what i am doing wrong. I have not got a accent that is hard to understand so whats the PROBLEM

Try changing the language/voice (UK/US Male/Female) that it outputs, I seem to remember that this also affects the input.
Could just be an old wives tale but got to be worth a try.

Sounds like the prob my wife has with the phone commands, my 'S' won't accept owt from her mouth, but does everything I ask.
Sorry this doesn't help I know. My wife says I should get the voice changed to a man's (which I believe they can do) then it'd work for her not me!

Hi Shawn,
Are the audio settings set to English female? Reason I ask is that a friend of mine had the same problem and when I looked it was set to American male. When I changed his to English female it recognised his voice commands everytime.

My S does have a fancy screen, with the dealers round here it's lucky it has really. Booked it in earlier to get a few minor issues resolved next week and the service guy asked me if it was 3 or 5 door! The End

In the settings menu somewhere, hard right nav button and then soft settings button I think. I'll go out and check in a mo.
Slimer's correct, if you press the hard right nav button and go into settings there will be a setting called Audio (their is also a language setting - ignore that one), select this and make sure that English female is selected (no option for English male - at least not on mine).1996 Discovery 1 300TDI ES Biarritz Blue, sold
