Hi Nessie
I did not fit adaptive xenons as they require a separate control unit which isn't fitted to the XS as standard. Also a bit of additional wiring which my supplier assured me that they could carry out at modest charge. I didn't bother though as I was so keen to get the XS lights replaced.
The non-adaptives like I have are a simple swap out plus enabling which Geoff did for me.
Hope this helps.
John
does this seem right to replace my halogen lamps on my d4 s (my2015).
Is it confirmed that its a plug & play + activation for xenons?

Re: EU spec vs UK spec headlights. Halogen to Xenon unit change
I changed mine recently (MY14 facelift). Recommend that you buy the correct UK spec so as to have them right. Signature lights etc all work on plug-in but xenon's need enabling. Also discovered that I was blinding people at night so had alignment checked. It was out just a touch. Perfect now and well worth doing. Halogens sold very quickly so got some of the cost back.

Just on the point ordering some genuine LR xenon headlight units for my 14 Disco, I am doing it for safety mainly as frankly the existing halogen headlights are so poor they hardly seem fit for purpose on the dark country roads round here. In the family we also have a tranny van and a fiesta which embarrassingly both have far and away better headlights, even my previous old style disco out shone this one.
Any way a previous poster said that the lumen output wasn't that much greater on the later xenon units so was just wondering what your experience was ?
Also is there anyone who can sort the programming of the CCD for me in the Driffield E Yorks area?

That is correct. Also that ad is for one light, you should buy a pair with the same manufacturing date.

Re: EU spec vs UK spec headlights. Halogen to Xenon unit change
While I can't speak for D4's between '09 and '13, I can say that the newest xenons are superior to those I had on my '07 D3 and I think they out perform those on my Jag XFS.
I had Geoff enable mine but he is in Kent. There are others up your way who understand how to modify ccfs like Wiggs, Bodsy, apologies if I missed anyone.
Remember before you panic that once enabled, the drls switch on when you first put the car into D.
Hope this helps.

Jonno,
Which make did you go for were they genuine from a dealer or aftermarket as there seems to be about £500 -£600 difference!

Got mine from UK Goldeneyes on ebay, they deal in LR and Jag. Have bought high end stuff from them before, very reliable.
Mine are genuine dated and labelled and UK spec. The lights are actually made by Valeo and I've seen these for sale but they are not JLR labelled.
Also some knock-offs around on far eastern sites which I think are better avoided.
