Winch advice needed
Hi all
I bought a RLD hidden mount and now it's time to install an hidden winch.
Any advice about which winch install without having to sell one kidney?

If your not worried about the looks/name get a Goodwinch. They always just work, don't look great, are slow, and soon get tatty, but always work and have great after sales should you have a problem. Phone David up (get a seat first) and ask any questions, they will be fully answered, and he will probably knock 15-20% off it for you.
I agree with Andy. My Goodwinch used on a trailer has never let me down. I highly recommend them and why does anyone want a high speed whinch unles you are on a jungle or mountain rally.

I had the Goodwinch 1200 on my defender, and it was just too slow for driver assisted recovery, a 9500 would have been much better. But still great kit.

To restrict an old thread.
Is a superwinch Tiger Shark 11,500 lb winch with synthetic dynema rope a good fit for a hidden winch and any Good?
I have been offered one cheapish.
Not sure how much I would use it, but it is on the wish list. D3 HSE TDV6 Auto. Bonatti Grey.

Personally it's too cheap. My experience of cheap winches is that they never work when needed, and then parts are either not sold, or v expensive.

Andy,
Aren't Superwinch a good make with a good reputation? RRP of £650 doesn't sound cheap to me.
I know the tiger shark is their entry level unit but you would hope (what I perceive) to be a good make with 40+ years of experience would still make a good basic unit. I am more then happy to be corrected. D3 HSE TDV6 Auto. Bonatti Grey.

Sorry, missed your higher post and just noticed the £425 bit and commented on that.
Yes superwinch is a good make, and £425, sounds good.
