Fitting an iPhone dock in a Disco 3 / LR3
I just want to show you how I place my iPhone into my Disco 3.
I wanted something that looks good and fits to an iPhone 5 and iPhone 6, both.
It is a normal iPhone docking station from "KiDiGi". Just search for "kidigi dock".
I removed the plastic ring around the docking station, cut off a little bit around it and put it into the cupholder (the lower part of it).
Just have a look:

Hi Disco2700,
Can i ask about the Pioneer system you have installed? is that in place of the radio or is it SatNav as well?
Thanks!

Thanks!
I did it myself - in a few steps:
1.) Radio with microphone, gps, remote controls on steering wheel
2.) docking station
3.) reverse camera
Each step took about 2-3 hours. You will find good instructions on the net.
Btw - you can turn the control lights on the left side of the radio (volume etc) in the exact green as the normal green of the interior lights. So, it does not look "foreign".

I am considering installing the same Pioneer head unit in my D3.
But I have the Harman Kardon Logic7 ICE and my local car electonics company have warned that there are a host of problems trying to fit the Pioneer to my system.
Does anyone have experience of this and can they advise me please?
Many thanks in advance. Regards, frank

you will loose the settings on the dash (time etc )
you will also loose anything that's is on the most (fibre optic loop)
amp / tv / tmc / Bluetooth / rear seat entertainment etc
you could fit the original head unit in the back some were ...that would keep the functions working ...and has been done beforeG4 Gone ...but not forgotten

I've done a few. You only need the centre part of the stereo, removing the CD player and the buttons /screen etc so just a small(er) part of the stereo remains. This can be hidden away.
You get to keep the clock and the 4x4 nav screen, but you have to reset the clock at midnight, you will loose the phone sound as inevitably you will wire the speaker direct from the stereo.Bodsys Brake Bible
