Am I right in thinking that "pz199" should be "P2199 - Intake air temperature 1/2 correlation"?
Can you get readings from the Intake Air Temperature sensor and and the Boost Temperature sensor?
Sounds like a dodgy sensor (or wiring), or blocked intercooler (but thinking not the latter if it's intermittent). Current: Discovery 3 06MY (55 reg) HSE Auto Zambezi Silver Allisport Fast Road Intercooler, V8 Brakes, Silicone IC Hoses, EGRs Blanked, Remapped, De-Cat pipe, FBHIC

Shame the garage didn't look at them on seeing the codes, though it might be difficult to observe if it's only intermittent.Current: Discovery 3 06MY (55 reg) HSE Auto Zambezi Silver Allisport Fast Road Intercooler, V8 Brakes, Silicone IC Hoses, EGRs Blanked, Remapped, De-Cat pipe, FBHIC

Car back in garage , air intake temperature sensor . They have never heard of this one , hope it's a simple fix. Anyone else had this one go faultyD3 HSE 57 Buckingham Blue

The IAT sensor is part of the MAF meter, so simple to change, not hugely cheap, but not hugely expensive either. Current: Discovery 3 06MY (55 reg) HSE Auto Zambezi Silver Allisport Fast Road Intercooler, V8 Brakes, Silicone IC Hoses, EGRs Blanked, Remapped, De-Cat pipe, FBHIC

What symptoms would you expected from its failureD3 HSE 57 Buckingham Blue

Lack of power, maybe black smoke, poor fuel economy, ESF messages and the sort of fault codes you're getting.
(Not to say it's the only cause of the above symptoms though.)Current: Discovery 3 06MY (55 reg) HSE Auto Zambezi Silver Allisport Fast Road Intercooler, V8 Brakes, Silicone IC Hoses, EGRs Blanked, Remapped, De-Cat pipe, FBHIC

The IAT needs to have some diagnosis before spending money on a new MAF. Live data from a good diagnostic tool will report the sensed temperature which you can then compare with the actual. Another option is back-probing the sensor itself to see the value it is reporting. It is also possible to cheat the IAT sensor values with suitable resistors.

Update: garage said they have swapped the sensor which was chucking out error codes but problems are still existing so it seems the air intake temp was not the main issue. They are suggesting EGR's now . Would have them blanked but I believe there is no work around for this engine (57)D3 HSE 57 Buckingham Blue

Find a better garage as I am not convinced these guys know how to diagnose modern engine systems.

garage where only able to do an hour or so yesteray as left it in there care to fit in at the earliest.should know more today if they have the time . if it is the EGR's would it be best to blank them ? can the ECU be fooled by a re-map to switch off the ECR's to prevent error codes etc.D3 HSE 57 Buckingham Blue
