HDC System warning fault?
I started the car this morning and got this message, started the car and it went and the car was fine.
Did a little searching on here and it seems it could be a battery fault so I entered the 'secret' menu and after a 100 mile journey, when the car was at idle, the battery was showing 13.5v.
Does this sound about right or should it be higher? I can never remember what's good and bad with voltage.

I'm no expert (they will be along shortly hopefully) - but it could be your battery, or it could be the alternator on it's last legs, and if/when the alternator finally goes it can take the battery with it (guess how I know )...............I think the preferred method of testing is with a decent multimeter measuring the battery voltage with the engine off, and then with it running - should be around 14.6v with it running IIRC.Jim

Cheers, it had an alternator last year before I got it I think.
I've been suspecting the battery for a while now also

You'll be wanting one of these then - it's what everyone on here suggests, and it's what I'm about to order......to replace exactly the same one that my knackererd alternator has just cooked
Get some proper readings with a multimeter and go from there. Was the alternator an OE Denso/LR or aftermarket?

I'm not sure what standard to be honest, I suspect pattern part as it was maintained at an Indy apparently.
I have breakdown warranty with the AA so when the battery goes they can have the joy of fitting etc for me and replacing. Much easier in the pocket
Only takes a moment to stick a new battery in yourself, and much more convenient. Current: Discovery 3 06MY (55 reg) HSE Auto Zambezi Silver Allisport Fast Road Intercooler, V8 Brakes, Silicone IC Hoses, EGRs Blanked, Remapped, De-Cat pipe, FBHIC

Very true but batteries are half the price through the warranty
