"Not just of 'short stature' but also elderly or less abled".

I think in terms of the op's question the automatic lowering at speed and access heights are two different things. I had a P38 which had (in height order):
1 - access height
2 - lower than normal height for stability at speed (selected automatically and switching to/from option 3 depending on speed)
3 - normal height
4 - raised off road
5 - tipedy top if you ground out at raised (selected automatically)
The comparable options you can choose on a D4 are 1, 3 and 4 of the above.
The question is does it lower automatically to an equivalent of option 2 above which is between access and normal height? I don't think it does. I've no idea if any LR models other than P38 did, but would assume some did/do.

D3/4 does lower slightly at high speed like a P38, can't remember what the speed is but it's something ridiculous like 100mph.
You also have extended mode which is higher than off-road height (not selectable by driver, automatic when car detects it has grounded)
And you have super extended mode (the highest of the high) which the driver can select only once the car has automatically gone into extended mode.
Have a search on the forum, there is loads of info regarding the various modes.
