The problem with locking threads that are SOLD
Just a comment really.....
So, the problem with locking threads that are SOLD, is that you then can't add any thanks or comments on the item received. Even just for info to others that may be looking for similar items.
You then have to start a new thread and link it back to the original.. Makes things a bit cluttered and disjointed IMHO
Fwiw, I received my Steiner Safari UltraSharp 8x22 from Lid the other day. Just been out in the garden setting them up for my eyes. They're fantastic pocket bins and the best ones I've owned. I know there are others that are significantly more expensive, but for my occasional use, they're perfect!
Is there a reason they need to be locked? I'd have assumed the marking as "sold" does the trick on it's own?Current: Discovery 3 06MY (55 reg) HSE Auto Zambezi Silver Allisport Fast Road Intercooler, V8 Brakes, Silicone IC Hoses, EGRs Blanked, Remapped, De-Cat pipe, FBHIC

Doesn't everything have a downside?
I would say there are huge downsides to leaving all threads with items For Sale "live" - people post up months or years later to see if items are still available.
You can always request a thread is unlocked to add your thanks.
In any case, marking as "sold" is a courtesy feature for sellers and not obligatory, nor is what is currently available necessary the final implementation of the feature.
Feedback about features is helpful, straight out slagging it off is a bit mean

Any issues with the site let me know!
Can you not use the PM service to post your thanks Ian, after all it's a personal message to the seller, doesn't need to be on the full forum and add the the " new post" list for everyone Altox GSM FBH controller thread

I'm sure neither of us intended to slag it off, Martin, because the effort is always appreciated. Current: Discovery 3 06MY (55 reg) HSE Auto Zambezi Silver Allisport Fast Road Intercooler, V8 Brakes, Silicone IC Hoses, EGRs Blanked, Remapped, De-Cat pipe, FBHIC

Your welcome Bodsy. I never realized that when I marked the thread as sold it also locked it!
(and this is not a criticism of admin, BTW)

Instead of 'SOLD' locking the thread, 'SOLD' could leave the thread open, then the buyer could add their thanks/feedback/received message then the seller could select 'COMPLETED' which locks the thread? This would be dependant on Martin adding the option and I don't know if it's possible or too much work for the reward
Alternatively the seller could not select 'SOLD' until the item has been received?Disco gone
