Is it possible to reset the gearbox so it will learn my driving style with an iid tool? If so how do i do it. I have one mini roundabout which causes issues, it always has a moment if i don't have to stop for anyone as i exit and gently apply the power it slows down considerably first time i pushed more throttle it went nuts after a second. Second occasion i held the pedal steady and after a second it still leapt a little. Quite irritating really. Could also be dangerous in the wrong situation.

Exactly what happens to mine. I'd be very interested to see what can be done. 2012, D4, Baltic Blue.. Wait!! Perhaps it's the Baltic Blue at the root of the problem...we seem to have that in common.

Can you read the throttle output voltages with the diagnostic tool?
Im not sure on the D3 but others I have come across use two tracks one reading 0 to 100 and the other 100 to 0.

I had similiar prob with a D2 and it was the two readings arguing with each other.

Can anyone answer the question I raised earlier in this thread? I ask this as a potential D4 purchaser who experienced just this issue on the only occasion I have driven an 8 speed D4.

The owner's comment was "I have complained to LR & they say that this is normal"

My question was:-

Quote:
Does anyone suffer this problem once their D4 has been upgraded to the latest software, had the adaptions reset and, drive, (or at least take off from rest), in Sport Mode?

I have no issues at all since the new software and adaptions reset.

Thanks Robbie Thumbs Up

I guess everyone who is complaining should ensure that they have the latest software and the adaptions are reset after it's installed.

The key in my case on my 2013my was to ensure the latest engine and gearbox software was updated from SDD at the same time Thumbs Up

Robbie,

Can you shed any light on the relevance of the Strategy and Calibration values for the transmission? Mine are Strategy CX23-7J104-AD and Calibration CH22-7J105-CE. If I get software updated will these values both update and my life will suddenly be fabulous?

Thanks.

I am taking my D4 in to the local dealer for a diagnostics check tomorrow....before they break for Christmas. They are saying that hesitation that occurs after braking or stopped situations can be a brake fault!

Comments?

On the question of the calibration sheet posted above....would those figures be the same for a correctly set up MY12 model...or would those numbers vary for other models?

Sorry if that's a bit of an obvious question.

My comment is that they speak the truth as this is a potential cause.

Thanks for your support.

To update everyone....

The diagnostics showed no faults but as the part was only £25 (plus fitting) I decided to accept the suggestion to change the brake switch, believed to potentially cause this fault, just in case.

I was also told there were two software updates that they applied and they did a reset. When pressed if these updates were the 'ones mentioned on this forum' they said "NO..those transmission upgrades had already been done on this vehicle!" So I have no idea what other upgrades were done. But suffice to say I was charged for these. And that's the sour note....

There followed a difficult discussion about why these upgrades were not applied as a matter of course when the car was serviced a couple of months back. I was told this was because I hadn't mentioned having this problem at that time.

It was explained to me that LR don't routinely update software unless it's a safety issue or the customer has reported having the specific problem covered in a LR bulletin. Really?

I have to say that's disappointing...leaving it to customers to ask for optimum performance.

Coming to LR from another make where they routinely updated all software at each annual service...so there was never a need for customers to ask for the latest fixes, it sounds more than a bit uncaring.

The point being, if it were not for these forums many of us would be unaware our cars could be further optimised and updated. There may be many LR vehicles out there underperforming and potentially souring customers opinion of LR products. Seems a little shortsighted not to do all updates as a routine to ensure we all experience the best of LR?

I have yet to test the changes...pouring rain and Christmas not the best conditions to try pulling out into traffic and hope the car now picks up fast enough. I did however do a couple of foot down bursts and it did seem to be less hesitant.

We shall see.
