5 year service deal on new Discovery

Just picked up my new commercial today and have been offered a 5 year service deal for £699 . 50000 mile limit?
Is this worth taking out ? Is anything major included in the first 5 years /50000 miles ie cam belts?

Yes, it's well worth taking up, although unless you're doing tiny mileages, you'll only get the first three services included (15, 30 & 45,000 miles). Having said that, at dealer prices, the sum costs of those services are much greater than £699. Beware the dealer trying to add lots of additional bits (that aren't included in the plan - discs, pads, tyres etc) at each service to make up their shortfall.

Even at 'tiny' mileages (like I will be doing) its mileage or date, which ever comes first is it not? Confused Either way, come resale time a FDSH is good to have Thumbs Up

As said, with main dealer services at 400quid a pop, its worth it. I've taken it up, and I'll hit 50k miles in about 2 &1/2 years, but thats still 3 services (16,32,48k on a D4), so thats over a grands worth of serviving for 700quid.

Yes, that's right. At "tiny" mileages you'll get the first 5 annual services, but many of us will get just the 3 services (unfortunately, I'll be clocking up 50,000 miles at around 1 year and 9 months old! Sad )
