I changed the batteries in mine and I tapped out the roll pins holding the key blade and replaced that too. All in all 15 mins a key. Same quality as OEM in my opinion.

I started this thread and have only today got round to doing my worn key.
I changed the battery also as I was going to the trouble of changing it all anyway.
Took about 45 minuets..
I work as a Locksmith and although these key cases appear to clip together we find that they still really need a little bit of Areldite around the join. New D3 Owner.. every day it starts is a bonus but any bongs or beeps are heart-stopping.

There will be a guide or two for changing the case. It's not a straight forward procedure as you need to cut the old apart to get the pcb and key blade out, and glue the new one back together.
Worth changing the battery when you have it open as well.
Not sure how you're doing it but it's a really easy job to swap out and can be done in 5 minutes start to finish.

Most good key cutting shops will stock the blade and can cut it for you. Go to an artisan not a Timpsons they will rip you off. D3 HSE ........................Gone!!!
