Yep, loads of people in ZA & Oz put Disco3 18" rims on their D4, and they have to use spacers + grind down the cooling fins until the rims fit without touching.--

Looks like a D2 16 inch wheel in which case, no but could be wrong.
If 18 incher, then maybe.

The info that I have is that they were fitted in a RR and the dimension are 18" 5X120 and offset 7.5. But I don't know if they fit on the D3.

Newbie post
Hi I'm new to this forum having just sold a 1999 Disco2 and bought a 2012 Disco4 HSE. I'm planning my first ever winter drive to the Alps for some skiing and I'm thinking about buying some winter tyres.
A friend of mine has just bought a 2002 FFRR which came with a spare set of 18" rims as the pic below which I can get for a couple of beers or so.
I'm sorry to say I haven't read all 35 pages of this thread but as the first post has a pic of a similar wheel and says it'll fit a Disco3 and I'm pretty sure I read that the 3 and 4 can use the same rims. Does that mean these would be suitable for my purposes?
I'll be buying new tyres so they'll be the right load rating but do I have to worry about the load rating of the rim? I think I read it was lower on the RR rims but maybe only the RRS?
Considering that I probably won't drive around much once at the resort are winter tyres worth the cost when 90% of the drive will be on motorways, won't it? Is there much downside to winter tyres on a clear motorway? Maybe just the noise level and a little compromise on the handling?
Thanks for any help. If these will be suitable I'll be looking for suitable tyres if that's an easy answer too.
Many thanks
Brian

the center hole in any D2 alloys isnt big enough to fit over the hub lip on a D3/D4, so they wont fit.
With regard to D3 and D4 rims, only 19" or above fit both, as the smaller LR rims wont clear the front brake calipers on the D4. Only the 18" compomotive rims fit D4.

Thanks for your reply Al.
Aren't these the 2nd rims shown in the very first post which states they are:
"RR (2006 onwards) & RRS 18" (watch RRS tyres as might be under rated for weight)"
So does this mean they'll fit a D3 (perhaps not V8 ) but not the D4?
Thanks Brian

Someone else asked about these but the answer wasn't clear. Will all disco 4 19s fit a disco 3? Specifically these ones:

Yes, all D4 rims will fit all D3s. Remember the D4 is just a facelifted/tarted up D3. Those rims were fitted to 09MY D3s as well as early D4s.
Ducking for cover re facelift.

Brilliant ,cheers DSL. WAS 99% sure they would but didn't want to loose money over my 1% doubt.

I'm the same, the only thing that makes me 100% sure is a pic of the wheels in question on the car.
