Identifying injector OEM number
Hi All,
I am helping a forum member in SA with injector issues that he is having, he knows he has a problem due to the plumes of white smoke when idling for a while. He has the opportunity to source some second hand injectors, his vehicle ironically is a UK variant imported to SA for the UK High Commission
The question I have is can you identify the injector OEM number without removing the injector, also whilst on the subject it would be useful to identify the variants used on the EU3 & EU4 models. Whilst I have a 2008 model in South Africa it is apparently an EU3 engine, however I cannot believe that LR built the engine with different HP pump and injectors so now is a good time to identify.
Any advice help you can give let me know, have a Nanocom so will check the injector values tomorrow...

Hi Mikey,
Many thanks for this, I was under the assumption injectors and pump changed between EU3 & EU4 but I can only see 1 variant for all LR injector part numbers as 5WS40249 and also the HP pump, does this mean that only 1 injector variant was fitted or do I just need another pair of glasses?
Can the injector number be seen without injector removal?

My interpretation of that catalogue is that there was only one variant of injector fitted to EU3, but LR have 3 parts numbers for it, and Ford another numberMy D3 Build Thread

Ok so have checked my injectors which are the 4H2Q-9K546-AF so it appears that the SA export model were fitted with EU3 injectors as my model year is July 2008.
The PDF file is confusing as it does not actually state an EU4 injector for LR but it does for Ford, Jaguar and PSA, I assume this is an oversight in the document. It's not that number. I have a dead EU4 with injectors in the back garden, I'll try and have a look later My D3 Build Thread
