I'd be interested to know if anyone has tried this? Seems a good option to keep the interior looking standard.

Yes, fitted one to my 2008 HSE. The only thing I've changed is fitting a roof mounted DAB aerial in place of the glass mount one to improve the signal but in strong signal areas the glass one should be fine. It functions through the steering wheel controls and fitting is plug and play. The function and menu controls take some getting used to but it's second nature now. It basically transmits the DAB broadcast on an FM frequency but directly through the aerial connection not over the air so quality is superb. One thing I had to do is change the default frequency as it was interfering with the normal FM Radio 2 signal (the missus doesn't like the DAB function so had to ensure I had both options).

DAB info and menu options display in the headunit display via radio text. Whilst in the menu options you have spoken cues through the speakers along with a single title on the display. The info on the display is limited but then I only need to know what radio station I am listening too so it suits me.
Be aware this is the Autodab via steering controls system and not the cheaper system that has a separate controller previously mentioned in this topic. AFAIK, this only works with the high-end Alpine system with Logic 7 as fitted in my HSE.
fitted this today and all good with good reception, I also tapped into the 12 rear socket and fitted behind the rear panel, for £88 I'm well pleased.

I had the auto dab connect fm in my old D3 and can throughly recommend it
The remote fits nicely inside either cup holder and you can make it a very discreet install
I picked up the power from the boot 12v socket, installed the unit in the compartment where tow bar is stored and put the dab aerial on the rear left windowD4 HSE Luxury 2016
