Not had my 55plate disco very long and have had the suspension fault light come on in red saying special programmes unavailble max 30 mph, so swithched engine off waited a few minutes and restarted and it had gone so naively just ghought it had a bit of dirt on a sensor or something, it stayed like that for 3 weeks this time i did same thing but was left with just amber warning and could select programmes was like this for 2 days then vanished again. Contacted the garage where i bought it from and they took it in and reckoned the compressor and pipe work is fine as it was only replaced 2 years ago but reckon the ecu hadnt been updated so they have just updated it and reckon it will be fine. Does this sound right or am i being fobbed off.

If they replaced your compressor 2 years ago with the new amk compressor than yes you would have to reprogram your ecu to accept the new compressor to work properly. If it was a a hitachi compressor than no just a direct swap. I'd just be concerned that the new compressor if it was a amk wasn't reprogrammed in two years. Could have messed up your compressor. Time will tell. Narpy's Grill Mod, Suspension Rods, Ultra guage, wrangler Goodyear duratracs 265/60/18, new thermostat, diff oils changed, brake switch new, aluminum rack floor, LED driving lights in foglights, rear camera, just need gvif unit, next on list! New front arb bushings, new front valve block, 191,000 miles.

Hitachi made the original compressor, new/current ones are AMK - a much better product IMHO LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

Fair enough will give it a while and see what happens. They seem genuine and have said they will honour it if it happens after the 3 month warranty is up.

The AMKs dont seem to last very well with the incorrect firmware. Have replaced a few now that are still running the original Hitachi firmware, and they have not lasted long at all My D3 Build Thread
