Upper tailgate latch snapped
Evening all,
My wife returned home today to tell me the upper tailgate wouldn't open on my Discovery 3 2007 SE. I advised her to press the lock / unlock buttons which released the tailgate. When I returned home I pulled the rubber cover from the switch, which revealed a very small red button. When pressing the button the tailgate opens, so the switch is working. There was a section of black plastic sitting in the switch (snapped) that by the looks of it is what is pushed when opening the tailgate. I need one of these small sections of plastic to repair, but I can't find it online, does anyone know the name for it and if it is available as a spare? Also had a lot of white dust around it, was thinking initially water ingress but there was no evidence of water and the switch itself works fine? Bit confused on that one!
Any advice greatly appreciated, photo attached as per below link

Or, go to Ford, and give them this part number

The Ford part is much cheaper than that from JLR
Cut the connector off the new switch, cut off the old switch, and join them in My D3 Build Thread
