Odd Suspension Fault

My 2005 D3 front suspension drops overnight.

When i start the car i hear the air pump kick in. The front will only lift back up if i either drive off with it down bumping along on its end stops for 100 yards or if i raise it into off road position for a second then back to normal.
It wont lift up on its own accord.

Any ideas what this could be?
Also why the front would be dropping and what to check?

Thanks,
Thumbs Up

I thought i might have a lazy height sensor on the front, but the iid tool says they are fine.

On mine the exhaust for the fuel burning heater had failed behind the near side front wheel arch liner and the escaping exhaust gases melted the air suspension pipe, it might be something similar on yours although mine had put a big hole in the pipe and went down very quickly.
