I decided to spend £34.49 on an LED Lenser 8307 M7 from eBlag, RRP appears to be c. £69.95 so IMHO not a bad buy.
The M7 is a similar size & specification to the 7.2 but 400 lumens rather than 320.

I keep waiting for the M7 to go down to the £22 it was for a day back end of last year. No joy though.

The LED Lenser is a good torch - I got one because of the peer pressure on here last time they were on sale
However, it's not that much better than the cheaper chinese ones, and there are many others that are better value of money - for e.g. the Convoy C8 is a better throwing flashlight, and decent flood spill too. It's not a zoom, which is an advantage to some. Well made, good heatsink, and takes LiIon batteries - £13 direct from China.
(and if anyone wants a decent deal on a Nitecore TM16GT as a serious torch, let me know as I have a discount code for about £80odd off..... - pm for details)

yep, it's a bit dear, I agree. £91 or so, I can get them for, inc shipping from China.
So that's a £130 discount on the price you've seen.....

I do a fair bit of sea fishing at night on the rocks, safety can be dependent on having a good torch, I have thrown away plenty of cheaper head torches over the years that just gave up the ghost, good job I always carry a spare to two, but since I purchased two Led Lensor headtorches a few years ago the spare one only comes out the tackle bag to get checked and recharged. So they might be dearer and appear not better, but I know which I can rely on.
If you like cheap LED torches, Lidls have some 2 for a £1! ==================================

T7M for £30 http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00KSCG...uctDetails 400lms. Not sure if rechargeable or not as description says one lithium ion battery supplied, every one else shows 4 Duracell in pics & AAA alkaline in description.
One from the reviews that had me laughing: "A cautionary tale. I fitted the batteries and pressed the button to see if it worked by looking in to the bulb and the preset condition is for the first press to give full power. It is incredibly bright and as soon as I did it I knew it was not the cleverest thing to do."

In one place it says:-
"1 Lithium Polymer batteries required. (included)"
and then further down:-
"Powered by 4 AAA batteries in their own well-protected housing"
and
"Box Contains...
Duracell Batteries (4xAAA)"
I suspect the reference to Lithium Polymer batteries is erroneous.

Agreed, pretty sure just AAAs. Buying one as missed out on M7 offer, bit of a celebration thing as found out this morning that we've just had planning permission for major rebuild of our little bungalow.

3xAAA or 1x 18650 (which is LiIon) is a common setup..... same size, give or take.

Changed mind, not buying one. SWMBO's just reminded me how many torches I have. Have run out of "homes" for them.
xcentric - good idea; but the torch takes 4 AAAs & they are in a "well-protected housing".
