From the D3 engine at tick over tat sounds like a belt but it isn't at he front of the engine...
The squeak disappears at driving revs & everything else is normal...
Any ideas ?
It's a chirruping sound......chirrup-chirrup....more when the engine colder not three that much when warm...but it does sound like a beltBREXIT - done properly.

I have this too but mine occurs when in motion at 1400/1500 rpm, very subtle chirruping. Just had belts and idlers extravaganza (as routine maintenance rather than to silence it) so not from that area.
Maybe just the nature of my beast.

Aux belt tensioner. Mine was just like that before it died a grizzly death.

Thanks DSL. Not touched the rear of engine as hpfp, belt & tensioner replaced at beginning of year. Hope you find the culprit BL.
I'll gently probe the issue but will put it down to character in the meantime
