The original poster did not have anything other than a code. He was unable to produce any proof of purchase.
If the code did not match the vehicle then any attempt to remap would have been futile.

Nick has travelled from Carlisle to London throughout the postings on the subject, without the means to reply on this forum. He has now remapped the vehicle in question at no cost.

I trust that some of those who posted will have the good grace to leave alone.

Nick and Mike happened to be reasonably close and came over to do it this evening.

No, I didn't have the receipt to hand. I told Nick this a week and a half ago, and I was under the impression, like a lot of people, that the receipt code was sufficient.

Not being able to contact someone at some other firm is quite frankly not acceptable. What if Ian at Diagnos gets hit by a bus? Does no-one ever get their car re-chipped again?

BUT I think Nick has done the right thing in the end. It was a pleasant half hour chatting to him and Mike outside my house over a cup of tea. They obviously have an interest and passion, and their RRS TDV8 looked lovely!! Didn't get the full sound effect though!!

I love the product, especially after going back to standard, and I'm very pleased to be a satisfied customer once again.
