First grovel underneath
Although my newly acquired D4 had an "oil service" by the selling dealer, decided to get it up on the 4 post at my mates garage to take a proper look. Car is on 50k and 3 LR services prior to selling dealer. Ended up doing:
Air filter
Pollen filter
Engine oil and filter again ( to ensure the correct spec oil for Dpf)
Front diff - fairly clean oil
Rear diff - also pretty clean
Transfer box - bit more in need of replacement
Fuel filter ( once we could find it!) - well scabby and might have been original
The sump guard prob has never been off since new so LR must suck the old oil out. I,m a traditionalist so take the sump plug out. Had to apply some heat to 2 of the captive nuts to get the bolts out of the guard!
Hopefully that's the service stuff out the way for now and I've got a base line for the future. Just need to get one of those IID Tools when I've got some more cash. All those oils cost a few bob

They say it's easier to suck the oil out. But surely more of the accumulated crud will come out if it's allowed to drop out via the sump plug I'd have thought.

And I fitted the RLD spare wheel protector courtesy of Uncle Ray. Great bit of kit that'll keep the tea leaves off my space saver D4 GS 12MY
