Arrgh - 1st service a horrostory |
|
Went to pick up my tdv6 se up after 1st service this afternoon....
1. Letter replacement.
After having had my rear tailgate resprayed for some factory paint defects they forgot to put the "discovery 3 tdv6 se" back on. 3 mths later later i called in, "are those on backorder" - "oops we forgot" was the reply. I decided to wait for my 1 year service to have them refitted. So today i got my car back with "Discovery 3 tdv6" but no "se" "oops again, we'll order right away and fix it.
2. Extra cost.
Had a fixed service fee agreed. Officeguy called - after inspection of brakes they recommended a €150 cleaning and greasing of brakes.
- "so why did you not include this in the fixed price?"
- "It is only a recommendation after inspecting your brakes"
- "so i dont NEED it done then?"
- "well yes you do, we really recommend it for safety and longevity of your brakes"
- "Hmm, so how many % of d3's that come in for service do you recommend this treatment for ?"
- "100%"
- "so why did you not tell me that i should expect a 20% service price increase?"
- "Because it is only a recomendation"
AAArrrggghh
3. Stop lock greasing - or not ?
Asked to be sure - "did you grease the stop locks as i get the grinding noise when at full turn".
Office guy asked mechanic... "oops, forget please let me have your keys for a minute"
4. Swiss cheese licence plates.
I had a nice frame on front plate, and back plate was stuck on with some black goo. I asked them to have a look at my back plate as it was starting to come off.
a) They just remooved the black stuff and drilled 2 holes in my back plate (no frame)
b) Beleive it or not the removed the front frame too, drilled 2 holes in my front plate and screwed i directly to the bumper
Aaargghh again.
When office guy saw this he instantly asked for my registration papers so he could order me a new set of plates, at least he could see this one wrong right away.
4. Dirty.
Service includes an external wash i was told when i booked months ago. These weeks the are rebuilding and have no washing facility....
- "why is my car dirty"
- "we have no wash facility these days"
- "no problem, just deduct a standard car wash from the service price"
- "no can do, carwash is not a service item, it is just something we do to be nice"
AARRRGHHH agin, again, again
My trust with these guys are sub zero and after this i will have to travel 100+ km's each way for a service. (this dealer is 10 km's away )
At least if you are not in eastern Denmark you are safe from this dealer.
Hope they will fix it until done, and i can always hope that they can stand up to their errors and show it when sending the invoice.
Less cheerful than normal
Jakob

This is "Terminalen" in Birkerød, Denmark - so probably of lesser interest to most of this forums users.
Ill keep you posted on the post-fix and invoice.
Cheers
Jakob
Still love my car though and is intact when driving it and I manage to not not think of this.
