Are there different types of 30 pin to lightening adaptors as the one in the link above seems to only support charging and not other functions. Would I be better off with genuine Apple for my iPhone 6s to work in the D4?
Lots of different ones available but the genuine Apple one works perfectly in the D4D4 2010 HSE Santorini Black

Is your D4 an early one? mine is a 2009 which meant the LR curly lead when connected to the 30 to lightning adapter would not charge my 5s, reason being apple had changed the pin layout from late 2009 on the 30 pin plugs. I have to use another adapter between the LR lead and lightning plug to enable the phone to charge. LR revised this on later 2010MY cars so hopefully it will work for you. It also wont charge if you use the later lead, as the problem lies in the module. Perhaps someone has rewired the module to save changing it? Now that would be handy D4 3.0 HSE cameras,Hybrid TV, 20" alloys, heated wheel, privacy, Tow pack.
