Can you beat this for a list of problems with your Disco?

Where to start... let's see

1) Air suspension... off road for somewhere in the region of 20 days over three months
2) Reversing sparking sensor- faulty and replaced
3) Clutch - burning. See my other thread
4) Folding electric door mirrors - both failed on seperate occassions. Replaced
5) Radio/ CD unit - failed. Replaced
6) All new tyres at 15,000 miles due to uneven wear all round
7) Drivers electric window failed. Twice.
8) Binding hand break shoes - replaced
9) Fumes in the car when the aux engine heater is on and cabin heater is on.

Somewhere in the region of seventy days off road. Can anyone beat this? I hope not! But would be interested to know if anyone has had similar problems with an 05 car? I am now in the process of terminating my lease with LR.

1: Petrol runs out from time to time.

2: Can't think of anything else.

Remember the movie Twins? Guess mine is Arnie.

Bonkers isn't it? For the money you pay for these cars they should be bullet-proof

Fit for purpose...

Marky
If you have the documentary evidence in a form that could be presented to Land Rover (or is it a lease company) you would be in a good postion to pursue a claim that the vehicle wasnt fit for purpose & claim loss of ammentiy.

It would be worth a go just to see if LR stood by the product...

My experience of Land Rover - based on having one Mk 1, two mark 2's & now a mark 3 hasnt been without problems, the dealers I have used for the bulk of any work been brilliant (Charles Hurts & Rocar Moore).

A decent solicitors letter - with stated times for replies is the standard form
 BREXIT - done properly.

D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.

Yes indeed that's where this is going. Have produced a list of issues that can all be validated by looking at the Link system which is used to charge for work on fleet cars. Perhaps if I get something else for the next three years then the LR 4 will be out! Will I buy it? No chance based on this!

Bad Luck or what

Marky
Looking at your list I can only fell sorry for you not much you could have done as the situation builds - would try the formal approach it may just produce results if you quote the relevant "sale of goods acts", you are not in the postion to reject the vehicle at this point
The two D2's I had...

1st one - engine failed (sounded like a bag of spanners) after approx 350 miles (563.2704 km back then I used miles) - the car was recovered back to dealers who said engine was effed & needed a complete replacement - I hade towo options new engine or reject car - I rejected car & waited till they got me the equivalent (bit of a bad time as it was around August & the car I had was a special edition)
The replacement (same model slight different colour) worked OK some snags with fuel pump (sorted out under warranty)

2nd One - gearbox failed due to manufacturing fault (ZF auto box - rough/harsh down changes) same dealer - vehicle rejected - dealer replaced car within about three weeks with exact same model.

NB on both occasions the dealers - Charles Hursts - Belfast suggested the reject vehicle route

My current Disco (Disco 3 HSE auto) bought from same dealer! (after all they only supplied the disco & were very good at handling the rejection/replacement - so far (touch wood) 11k miles no major snags (some very minor issues all solved on warranty).

Good Luck!
 BREXIT - done properly.
