Light Guards and the Sticky Pads

Quick question....

When you fit the light guards, do the little sticky pads go between guard and light or between guard and grill?

Stu , only fitted mine last week .Its between the Glass/Perspex of the lamps and the back of the U shaped tabs of the guard.Your supposed to clean the leading edge of the lamp glass and then adhere them.Theyre useless , fell off mine and I put alittle tab of trim adhesive strip there instead.Instructions are useless.
