Service costs
I am coming up for 64k, about 4K more to go...therefore I started looking at servicing.
Before phoning the stealers to see what they say I wanted to see what the received wisdom was on here. Marshals quote nearly £700 for a Land Rover service, but for vehicles over 3 years they offer a range of services at a much cheaper price.
But they don't tell you what's in the minor, major and interim services at the cheap option, they also say they might not be able to stamp the service book.
Anyone any experience of this, seems to be offered by other dealers too.

Edit, the list of options shown is the same regardless of service selected, I had the brake fluid done last year, so would probably just add the engine flush.
Any idea what the emissions control service is?Sill protection - LED internal lights - LED reverse lights - boot liner - Dog Guard - Rock sliders

Apparently the difference is they don't use LR parts, but OEM ones.
However the lady on the phone really did not have a clue and quoted me a different price to online....
I might just pop in one day when out that way and ask them Sill protection - LED internal lights - LED reverse lights - boot liner - Dog Guard - Rock sliders

I can't answer the above
To give you an idea on stealer,
I paid £426 of first service and was quoted:
2nd year/32,000 - £676
3rd year/48,000 - £426
4th year/64,000 - £676
5th year/80,000 - £426
And so on, apparently it alternates.

No idea what some of the extra's are, such as the emission control service - is it just a forced DPF regen?Sill protection - LED internal lights - LED reverse lights - boot liner - Dog Guard - Rock sliders

Spoke to the service manager, basically they still use LR parts but just make the service cheaper, there are a few checks they don't do to help keep the price down.
But looking at their checklist they seem to change all the relevant filters, etc. so does not seem a problemSill protection - LED internal lights - LED reverse lights - boot liner - Dog Guard - Rock sliders

Tempted - for all of 5 secs.
Noted the following: * All prices are “from prices” and will be confirmed by the dealership upon booking.

In fairness when I went their for the last service (first of my ownership) the price paid was what was quoted, no dodgy extra's stuck in, good service and friendly.
The service manager has just called me about my enquiries to make sure everything was OK as well, so cannot fault them on customer service.
I note you are nearby - where do you get yours done?

as I understand it the service period is mileage or time related..
wherever you go the dreaded VAT doesn't help....oils etc will probable be on a par...so probably only the labour costs influencing the final price.
have you got an ongoing warranty...the terms of which you may have to follow

yep - time or distance based, just coincidence that both mine are at the same time approaching 64k and the anniversary of the service
I am on an LR warranty, so it must be serviced - not by a dealer but following the service schedule.
As far as I can tell, the Marshals reduced price service seems to meet that criteria.Sill protection - LED internal lights - LED reverse lights - boot liner - Dog Guard - Rock sliders

Dealer prices are a total cash cow for them and look very poor value compared with the service and cost from someone like Flack or Disco Mike.
Don't automatically take your LR to a dealer.SOLD - 23my Range Rover Sport D300 Dynamic SE
