I allready sent an email to the Odyssey head office in the USA. The EMEA sales director directed my complaint to the dutch Odyssey spokesmen. I will contact the EMEA sales director directly when the outcome stays negative.

So how did they prove it's sulphated, cut the casing open???
Something stinks here, bull*hit being the most likely reason...

Just because the battery is sulphated, does not prove that you caused it and based on the short time you have had the battery and your driving info you have posted, my guess is, if the battery is actually sulphated, it came about because the battery had been stored in an undercharged state for a long time, before you bought it.
That type of battery will not sulphate while it is in regular use. It has to be left for many months in an unused and undercharged state before sulphating begins to damage an AGM battery of any make.
You are being spun a pack of porkies. 2008 TDV8 RR Lux + 2009 D4 2.7

@Drivesafe Quote:the battery had been stored in an undercharged state for a long time
what voltage would you point out for an undercharged state? Beneath the 10 volts??

Hi pgoeij, all lead acid batteries will start to sulphate if the battery has a voltage of less than 75% or around 12.35v, for long periods of time.
NOTE, if a battery is below 75%, it doesn’t instantly start to sulphate. The battery has to be in an unused state, below 75% for at least 24 hour before it will start to sulphate and even then, it will take many weeks of being CONSTANTLY below 75% before sulphation becomes a potential problem.
Now most vehicles these days often self discharge when not used say, over a weekend, but even though some very limited amounts of sulphation may occur, as soon as you start to do some driving, the sulphation is reversed.
Again, the battery, particularly an AGM type battery, has to be UNUSED for a long period of time, and in a state of charge well below 75% before sulphation causes any damage, like what your seller is trying to imply.
Because your battery is only 18 months old or in this case, you have only had it for 18 months, ( you probably will not be able to find out just how old the battery really was when you bought it ), and you have been driving your vehicle on what seems to be a regular basis, I still think the battery was in a damaged state before you bought it. 2008 TDV8 RR Lux + 2009 D4 2.7

Which effectively prevents Odyssey having it shipped back to them in the USA for examination, unless Odyssey told them to cut it open?

Spoken to the Dutch Odyssey spokesmen. He promised me to deliver a whole new PC1350 battery next week
Still he is convinced the battery will fail again within 1,5 years from now if i don't change the way of usage. Let's see if ;
- the battery will indeed be delivered --> received the battery today as promised.
- the battery will be working after 1,5 years of same usage.
Thx guys for the support and information!
