Watching with interest. My FFRR has a lot of swirl marks when I got her and a little orange peel in places.
I'm only in Wolves so will probably be using this guy after I see your finished pics
I've has had the alloys refurbished as a few marks and treated them to Gtechniq C5. They now come up spotless with a hose and nothing more needed.
Looking to get the paint polished smooth and C1/Exo etc to get it back to how it should be and then it'll be snow foam and a blast clean.
Gtechniq say the C5/C1 etc has a minimum life on the car of 12 months. So apart form a wash a week it only needs serious polish etc once a year.
Expensive stuff but £ per life it is good value.
Pretty sure you have the same idea as me when it comes to getting the car detailed and that it just taking a bit or pride in your car and looking after your vehicle.
Certainly nothing wrong in that in the slightest.
What level treatment did you get buy from them so I have an idea what to look for?Ian

For a Disco he offered me a 3 day plan and a full monty 4 day plan after I described the old girl as covered in deep swirls.
His recommendation was the 4 days and not for sales reasons either. It allows him time to do a full 3 stage paint treatment and that includes all the door shuts and bits that normally get overlooked. They even wash and dress inside the wheel arches
The 4 days means no compromise.
Full engine bay clean down, leather treatment, wheels cleaned and polished both sides (although in my case they are newly refurbed but still need surface protection). The list goes on and on.
Not a nicer more obliging guy would you like to meet or chat with (I don't work for him - honest guv).
I came across him on a BMW Classic Car site where he holds a top reputation as the got to man for paint restoration.
Awaiting the next lot of pics (which is another feature of his business ethic - customer always informed and consulted).

Blimey - I wasn't calling anyone's D4 a van!
On the link there a bunch of photos of detailed VW Caddys/Transporters and the like. I am sure they are very nice vans, but it seems a bit OTT - it can't be cheap?VIN: A175A328***
Can you advise on costs for both the 3 and 4 day options.

The quote was based on my vehicles specific requirements and so would not be the same for you/everyone!
A touch north of five-hundred notes for my full package (not sure on the ethics of publishing his so-called price list as it is not a straight forward 'from the catalogue' approach).
Hope that helps though."Track day running - Don't put your foot back on the accelerator until your absolutely sure you don't have to take it off again"

£500 is very reasonable for a 4 day detail on a Disco especially with deep swirls all over.
Is he using any Gtechniq C1/Exo/C5 on your car at the end on the body or wheels?Ian

No idea what 'family' of polish Ian to be fair but I'm sure it will be good stuff.
We shall find out in a little while........... collecting it at 10-30am today
And just for the record....... it was not £500............ it was as I said before....... "slightly North of £500" (but not too far North).
I am quite intrigued to see how this turns out to be honest. Standby for updates............."Track day running - Don't put your foot back on the accelerator until your absolutely sure you don't have to take it off again"

OK here we go chaps.
31 months old with 62,000 motorway miles on-board. This is what Auto Detox of Cannock achieved.
Unbelievable really. Proper made up with the results.
Black wheels and trim added by me (just before the clean-up and polish).
See what you think
