I'd just like to start with the fact that I love the Disco 3, having had every model thus far its by far the best I've driven, and it seams VERY well put together.
Anyhow, the auto dim rear mirror didn't appear to be working, ok lets check the fuse. Well once I managed to get the thing out, it was right at the bottom of the panel, I found that it was ok. This only took about 10mins, now the fun bit to get the thing back in... well half an hour and blood coming from my hand i gave up , put it in the glove box and will be taking this to the salesman tomorrow to watch him do it.
And as for getting at the spare fuses which are even further down into the dash, don't know how the hell that'll happen !.. and before you all start yes I did use the little fuse getta outtera tool.
What happened to getting at things, like a fuse... did LR forget this simple fact when designing the D3 ??
Has any one out there had a problem with getting out and best of all putting them back, some of the lower fuses ??

Yours should have, but the Oze spec is one grade different. SE in Australia is similar to S.

Yes, the Aus spec SE does have the dipping mirror. I think that LR Australia decided how to spec the cars and that they are not just a straight downgrade from the UK spec. Still would like my passenger side cup holder though..... TDV6 SE (Ausie Spec) COOOL Chawton White.

Thanks Slimer, I will price them here but I think they will be a lot more. My brother, from Dorset, is coming over in November so I might ask him to bring one over. Must be an LR dealer around Poole.... TDV6 SE (Ausie Spec) COOOL Chawton White.

I have just had the pleasure of changing a fuse. How are you expected to get to the spares....carry a torch, a small screwdriver and a child with small hands. You will have to move the wiring looms where they are attached to the metalwork - make sure you put the clips back on - most of the metal is so sharp it would chop the wires in no time, especially with a bit of off-road bumps - you can imagine what it does to flesh.
However, the best tip I can offer is to:
Make sure you know how to lower the glove compartment before you need to (instructions in manual, do you carry it)
Buy a set of fuses and keep them in the glove box
Carry a small pencil light
And hope that when a fuse blows it is accessible one (unlike the spares) 2005, TDV6 S, Auto, 190k miles, owned from new, V8 Brake Upgrade, Nancom Evo, RLD protector, BAS EGR blanking & Remap, separate ATF cooler, changing all the fluids ahead of time.

And before you put the new fuse in, tape or glue a small piece of string to it, to help you next time

Try changing the brake bulb in a TDi 300 Disco. That requires extreme body contortions and a sense of humour. No longer a D3 owner but still subscribed to multiple threads!

Just went to check 10A fuse for telephone. Cabin harness runs down infront of fuses restricting access. Used the nice little tool supplied & removed fuse a treat. Even got fuse back in but tool dropped into the black hole of the A post Suppose it will have another rattle now I'll get my lad to fish it out as he's got tiny hands.

I find that the fuse removal tools in vehicle fuse boxes are hopeless. You often need a tool to remove them !!!
Try a pair of long nose pliers for removing and replacing fuses.
